In this show Knee Deep, circus troupe Casus explore the limits of the human-body. Using the metaphor of an egg which is very strong in one axis but weak in the other. I replicated this strain in the tone of the flute, allowing the breaths to reveal the human element of the performance, while using melody and effects to echo the movements of the performers. Along with the modernising sound of synthesizers and more traditional drum rolls associated with the Circus. The piece is idiosyncratically Casus,  yet instantly recognizable as circus music.

I love the theatre and enjoyed working with Silent Shout Theatre on their production of ‘The Crossing’
